Defending Data: Keeping Students at the Center

Our multi-racial democracy is rooted in freedom, not suppression, of information. Data as a tool for illuminating progress and spotlighting barriers to completion transcends partisanship. It is a tool to better support students on their educational journeys and hold campuses accountable for supporting their success. As the U.S. Department of Education continues to sustain unfounded attacks, California must uphold its commitment to data-driven, student-centered policy by strengthening our Cradle-to-Career Data System and supporting a statewide higher education coordinating body that responds to students and our workforce needs.
