
Raquel Gonzalez
As Development Director, Raquel is responsible for launching and sustaining the Campaign’s inaugural Annual Donor and Major Gifts programs, leading corporate giving and sponsorship initiatives, and engaging the Board of Directors in fundraising efforts to strengthen support from current and prospective donors. She also oversees the planning and execution of all existing and new fundraising events.
Raquel’s passion for education is deeply personal—she was the first in her family to earn a college degree, an experience that fuels her commitment to expanding educational opportunities for others.
Prior to joining the Campaign, Raquel served as the Donor Relations Director for Communities In Schools of Los Angeles and worked at Los Angeles Southwest College as a Career Guidance Counselor Assistant, where she supported high school students with college applications and career planning.
While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Raquel also worked with the Los Angeles Writing Project as a teacher’s assistant, where she developed lesson plans and provided in-class support to both teachers and students.
Raquel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a focus on Law and Society and a Master’s degree in Education, both from California State University, Los Angeles.
Raquel Gonzalez is a first-generation graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from California State University Los Angeles. Raquel joined the Campaign for College Opportunity in 2017 while completing her studies. Raquel earned her master’s degree in Education in May 2023 from CSULA. Her goal is to earn a Doctoral degree. She looks forward to continuing working with students and partners to ensure more students have the opportunity to earn a post-secondary degree.
