Vision and Action for Equity: Rooting Justice in Higher Education

When
December 11th

Following the presidential election, many are grappling with fear and uncertainty over our country’s future. In this defining moment, we are faced with a choice: to succumb to attacks on diversity, equity, inclusion, our multiracial democracy, and the growing majority of Black, Latinx, Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, and American Indian/Alaska Native people, or unite as upstanders in the continued fight to protect and support our students.

Over the last 20 years, the Campaign for College Opportunity has always chosen the path of justice, uplifting higher education as a pathway to opportunity for the diverse people of America regardless of their racial/ethnic background, gender, zip code, income, or documentation status. We stand committed to another 20+ years of resistance and student-centered impact. We were proud to join with partners on the frontline for our students at our annual signature event in Sacramento, Vision & Action for Equity: Rooting Justice in Higher Education. Featuring student performances, policymakers, good food, and community, this event left guests feeling empowered for the work ahead. We also recognized our extraordinary 20th Anniversary Legacy Honorees—courageous leaders who have rooted our history in equity and economic justice, and who will be unwavering allies as we face the challenges ahead.

Thank you to our sponsors

A cornerstone of our success as an organization has been the cultivation of long-lasting partnerships with leaders and organizations who share the same dedication as we do to helping students of all backgrounds achieve their college dreams. As we celebrated an evening of legacy rooted in partnership, we were additionally proud to honor the recipients of our 20th-anniversary Legacy Award, recognizing those who have been integral to the Campaign’s success and champions for student success and racial equity.
